Hamriyah Free Zone (HFZ)

Whether you’re looking to expand your business empire or are a budding entrepreneur, Hamriyah Free Zone offers a range of services and facilities to fit every need.

Hamriyah Free Zone Authority is located in the emirate of Sharjah and came about by an Emiri decree issued in November 1995. The Free Zone boasts a unique geographic and time zone advantage backed by a secure and fully convertible currency, as well as multi-access to countries globally through land, sea and air.

Sharjah plays an important role as the industrial base of the UAE. It is uniquely placed between three continents with a growing market of 1.5 billion people. Sharjah is the only Emirate with a port on the Arabian Gulf’s east and west coast with direct access to the Indian Ocean. It also has an international airport connecting to 230 cities. Its infrastructure is well developed for industry on big and small levels, serving Gulf, regional and international markets.

As the Next Generation Free Zone, Hamriyah is ensuring that its management is flexible and dynamic besides being an investor oriented Free Zone. Hamriyah Free Zone is challenged to provide competitive incentives and unique opportunities for foreign investors to establish a business in a tax-free environment. Additional benefits include full company ownership, exemptions from all commercial levies and repatriation of capital and profits. The Free Zone manages an area of approximately twenty two million square meters of prime industrial and commercial land and a 14 metre deep water port which has further room for expansion.

The Free Zone also offers land lease for 25 years with renewals available for similar periods, pre-built warehouses, factories and office units for lease, and executive office suites in the International Business Centre for lease. There are transportation links via road, 3 sea ports and Sharjah International airport and highly developed infrastructure and telecommunications which include inexpensive energy and affordable living costs.

Procedures for setting up a company in Hamriyah Free Zone are relatively easy. Streamlined procedures and formalities make it easy to obtain a license within even 24 hours of submitting all the relevant documentation. There are three types of license available; Industrial, Commercial and Service. Hamriyah does not impose any restrictions on the number of businesses the investor can be involved in. With exception to FZE and FZC, there are also no restrictions to establish a branch outside Hamriyah Free Zone, although a local partner is required as it is outside the free zone.
